Textile art or fiber art is a particular form of contemporary art which takes form through different techniques like intertwining, the use of different fibers, patchwork, ready-made objects, and everything that refers to “textile”.

In order to celebrate the first ten years of the Valcellina Award (1995-2005), and the first twenty years of the Association’s activity (1987-2007), Le Arti Tessili calls for a special edition of the Competition.

This special event includes the participation of some European Academies/Universities’ Textile Departments whose students will exhibit in an invitational section of the Award.

Further, a meeting will take place on fiber art policies, techniques, and strategies with the participation of the teachers of the invited European Academies/Universities, and some Italian representatives.

In addition to the aforementioned events, Le Arti Tessili Association is holding the usual international competition for the purpose of enhancing the knowledge and interest towards textile art among young people, and encouraging new talents.

The competition is open to all young people who were born from 1 January 1972 on.

The following prizes will be awarded:


1.  2,000 € net value

2.  1,500 € net value

3.  1,000 € net value
